8x10 Oil on Wood Panel
This petite oil painting is a window into one of my favorite rituals: hiking through the winding trails of the Presidio. There is a specific moment on that path where the forest opens up, and I find myself pausing to gaze out across the landscape, simply taking in the incredible beauty of it all.
This work captures that exact sense of discovery. Framed by the rugged, dark silhouettes of Monterey Cypress trees, the Golden Gate Bridge and the San Francisco Bay emerge in the distance. Working on wood panel with a palette knife, I used heavy, sculptural texture to mirror the physical presence of the trees against the shimmering light of the water.
To me, this piece isn't just a landscape; it’s a record of a quiet, personal moment of wonder. My hope is that it brings that same sense of coastal air and San Francisco magic into your home.
